About me
My name is Carol Griffin and I started producing my range of skincare products professionally about nine years ago.
Halesworth in middle Suffolk is where I was born in 1959, and it's where I lived until I recently moved to the coast at Reydon, Southwold.
I settled into the role of a qualified Holistic Therapist in 1998, but took a year out in 2001 to travel around the entire coastline of Europe driving my yellow 2CV ‘Colapso’, filled to the gunnels with camping gear and my 46 kilo boxer dog Jacques. We travelled nearly 6000 miles using mostly minor routes, and ended up on the Greek Island of Kos, famous for being the birth place of Hippocrates the Greek philosopher and physician, often referred to as the ‘Father of Medicine’ and accredited as the physician who coined the Hippocratic Oath. We arrived late summer, and lived there over the following winter in a little mountain house on the forested belly of Mount Dikaios, visiting many of the ancient ruins where Hippocrates taught his revolutionary new ideas about the holistic nature of disease and medicine… ideas quite contrary to the traditional belief that illness was a punishment from the Gods, the popular mythology of the times. I equate that nine months of travelling, inadvertently spending much of my time in almost total isolation, as probably the most challenging, yet spiritually and emotionally the most fulfilling period of my life, and whatever I’ve achieved since, is undeniably derived of its essence…
And there is a book soon to be published ~ 'The Way We Went' (subtitled... 'from Selig Suffolk to Ashfendou').
